Elephant Seal Festival

Cambria’s Historic East Village announces its first annual Elephant Seal Festival January 16th & 17th, 2010. Live music will be featured at the Burton Inn, 4022 Burton Drive, Cambria. A line up of truly talented musicians like Bubba Ramey on Saxophone, Jill Knight Keyboard and vocalist, the multi-talented John Wessel and the Kicks are featured artists starting at 10am until 4:00pm daily.

Witness thrilling moments along Cambria’s central coast as thousands of elephant seals join the rookeries along our beaches. It is a spectacular scene with females giving birth and the sea gulls announcing their arrival, alpha males sparring and protecting their harems, and sex on the beach. Official sponsor of the Elephant Seal Festival, Terry Damerel says, “It is truly a menagerie of chaos.” Docents are available daily at the Elephant viewing just three miles north of Hearst Castle.
